Hacienda Monte Claro works in collaboration with the Association of Organic and Agro-Sustainable Producers known as APOYA, facilitating the establishment of its micro-benefit on the property and seeking to join forces and harvests of more than 50 certified Organic farmers (Eco-LOGICA) and or Fair Trade (Flo-Cert), to process coffee in an environmentally friendly and socio-economically sustainable manner.
The Association aims to:
• Train and develop production alternatives adapted to climate change,
• Promote environmentally friendly production systems,
• Diversify production plots (coffee mixed with banana, cacao, chile, sugar cane).
One of the most important goals at the present time is to establish fair marketing networks with sustainable prices for producers. Therefore, APOYA has its own processing and marketing brand, NATURALBA, for the different processed products: roasted coffee, banana vinegar, cocoa nips, chocolates and cane sugar.
