From technical pathways in secondary forests, crossing streams and climbing trails, to wide roads among plantations of sugar cane and organic coffee, you can enjoy a quite varied and dynamic journey. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, majestic nature, and overlooking the active Turrialba volcano.

River, vegetation and biodiversity…
Distance: 0.6 km
This one-hour walk will allow you to discover one of the highest trees in the world, the Ceiba (Bombacaceae), who gave his name to this trail. The tree was sacred to the Maya. Their height (can reach more than 70 meters) made them believe that their branches supported the sky while their deep roots were a means of communication between the world in which we live and the underworld.
A 4-hour walk through the Hacienda, on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike, to enjoy an impressive diversity of landscapes and a beautiful view of the majestic Turrialba volcano. Surely you can run into the Hermit Hummingbird l (Hermit Golirrayado), who measures around 10 cm and weighs around 2 or 3 grams! It feeds on the nectar of medium or small corolla flowers. Open your eyes well … and your ears.
Forests, reforestation and Gardens

This Morpho trail, technical and physical, offers you the opportunity to discover, for about 3 hours, various types of forests and a very varied vegetation. The majestic Morpho, (Nymphalidae Morphinae), butterfly known for its metallic blue color and its large size (up to 20 cm wide), will be observed during the collection.
Rio, Waterfalls, Flora and Fauna …
Distance: 2,09 km
The Nutria trail (Otter), technical and varied with a pronounced rest, allows you to follow the descent of a river before reaching a lodge and enjoying its natural environment. The lutrinos (Myocastor Coypus), commonly known as otters are great swimmers who can close their nostrils underwater and feel more at ease in the water than on the mainland. They open their eyes, they are not that far.

The Pizote trail, accessible to all, will allow you to discover with family or friends, unique views of the Turrialba Valley before going through coffee and cane plantations, typical crops of the area. Maybe they will see a family of Coatimundi, (Procyonidae), known in Costa Rica as “Pizote”, climbed in a tree or walking along the roads. The Pizote is omnivorous and eats almost anything he can find, but he still loves sugarcane from the Hacienda…
