From technical pathways in secondary forests, crossing streams and climbing trails, to wide roads among plantations of sugar cane and organic coffee, you can enjoy a quite varied and dynamic journey. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, majestic nature, and overlooking the active Turrialba volcano.
Several paths are available: easy to difficult, short or longer, by foot or mountain bike…. Just take your pick 🙂
- Otter Trail (or Nutria Trial) – Red: Rio, waterfalls, flora and fauna… 1hr. Trekking – Level: Medium – Distance: 2.1 km
- Coati Trail (or Pizote Trail) – Black: Sugar cane & coffee plantations, and nature… 2hrs. Trekking or MTB – Level: Easy – Distance: 3.2 km
- Morpho Trail – Blue: Forests, reforestation and gardens… 3hrs. Trekking or MTB – Level: Difficult – Distance: 4.1 km
- Hummingbird Trail (or Colibri Trail) – Green: Sugar cane & coffee plantations and landscapes… 4hrs. Trekking or MTB – Level: Medium – Distance: 6.8 km
- Sunbittern Trail (or Garza del sol Trail) – Yellow: Sugar cane & coffee plantations, landscapes, rivers, beaches… 6hrs. Trekking or MTB – Level: Difficult – Distance: 7.2 km + 2 additional km return for each of the 2 beaches: San Lucas and San Mateo.
