This trail presents a high level of technical and physical demand. It is a challenge for experienced and daring cyclists. It offers strong climbs and arduous descents through different types of forests with very unique vegetation.

The blue morpho butterfly (there are 5 species of this genus in Costa Rica, the most common being Morpho helenor) is a butterfly known for its metallic blue color and its large size (up to 15 cm long). It is not possible to find these butterflies outside their habitat, as they are restricted to very particular environmental characteristics. They say that encountering blue butterflies is a symbol of good luck or that wishes are about to come true.
